Un Grito Gallery is pleased to present "some overflow” an exhibition of collages by Vikky Jones. This solo show will open Thursday, October 3rd and Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 7-10 pm with a closing reception held on October 17th, 2024.
"An exhibition of collages that were created with an autobiographical undercurrent comprised of older, torn up dark drawings, with small squares of color, maps, images, experiences, and other drawings clustered on the surface. To echo these, on another wall are similarly arranged tiny collages that are also nostalgic and accessible. I often draw on childhood references, objects, and characters, placing them in different, adult contexts that create situations blurring the lines between youthful memory and mature concerns."
Jones holds both her Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees in painting and drawing from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She's exhibited in galleries across Texas, including The McNay…
