A Story and A Song

FL!GHT Gallery

November 16, 2016 8:00 pm - November 16, 2016 9:30 pm

You are invited to share an evening of art, story and song at Fl!ght, on Wednesday, November 16 at 8 PM. Hills Snyder will read a short story from the serial travelogue that accompanies his show Altered States currently installed in the gallery (as is James Smolleck’s show in the Salon Space). The story will be followed by Hills singing his song One Good Reason. After the fifteen minute performance of story and song there will be plenty of time to view both shows.

One Good Reason

when name calling and throwing sticks is not the solution
and every single person you know is waiting on a train
try to find one good reason to challenge your twisted nerve
before you think about climbing that platform
about in the high rain how to keep warm
about trying to find out why you were born
about looking for a teacup so we can ride out the storm

when the view from the wall is distress and disorder
and the voices of the earth are lost in a screaming refrain
try to find one good reason to challenge your twisted nerve
before you think about climbing that platform
about in the high rain how to keep warm
about trying to find out why you were born
about looking for a teacup so we can ride out the storm
