Blue Star Contemporary

March 1, 2019 6:00 pm - March 1, 2019 9:00 pm

March is a BIG month at Blue Star Contemporary, so pull out your calendars because you won’t want to miss what they have planned!

BSC starts off the month with a BANG on First Friday, March 1st from 6-9 PM.  The evening celebrates the Kick Off Celebration of Contemporary Art Month; the Opening Reception for the CAM 2019 Perennial: Ghostly Demarcations; the announcement of the 2019-2020 Blue Star Contemporary Berlin Residents; and the opening of the BSC MOSAIC Student Artist Program Alumni exhibition: A Conversation, on view at Cube Gallery located in the Brick at Blue Star.
While here, guests can enjoy free admission, taster adult refreshments donated by Silver Eagle Distributors, get down to fresh jams by DJ Nova Soul, and if you’re hungry, buy some delicious Cuban fare from the Ay Papi food truck.
Blue Star Contemporary continues the contemporary art dialogue on Thursday, March 7th from 6-8 PM with the free public program Contemporary Art 101. This panel discussion illuminates the processes and motivations behind the making, understanding, presenting, and collecting of contemporary art. Bringing together individuals of various art experiences and backgrounds this conversation aims to demystify trends and topics of contemporary art.
Saturday, March 9th continues the BSC Berlin Brunch series with their wonderful neighborhood partner and supporter, Liberty Bar! Guests can join BSC Berlin Residency Program Alumni Justin Korver and Ryan Takaba as they discuss their experience at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien as part of the Blue Star Contemporary Berlin Residency Program. This small intimate setting is an opportunity to get unfettered access to the artists and residency program while joining the international art dialogue in San Antonio.
Berlin Brunch is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so BSC kindly requests you register on their website.
