January 8, 2019 7:00 pm - January 8, 2018 10:00 pm

Contemporary Whatever is a monthly experimental performance series hosted each month at Flight Gallery in San Antonio, TX. Contemporary Whatever’s main focus is on curating events for performers belonging to various communities in and out of town.

Samantha Riott (NYC): Samantha Riott is the vocalist from the abrasive, nihilistic out-jazz band Rodenticide, and a spoken word artist. Hailed as “one unique and powerful figure on New York’s experimental music scene”, she has been on the NYC circuit performing with various musicians to further encapsulate and articulate the highly personal and the insanely socio-political with soundscapes. Her upcoming solo album, Bloodletting will be released in January 2019 on Fifth House Productions.

Sarah Ruth: Sarah Ruth is a diverse musician and artist – a multi-instrumentalist, she employs hammered dulcimer, harmonium, electroacoustic sound art, and extended vocal techniques. She performs frequently both solo and with multiple bands and improvisational ensembles in the North Texas area. She is a University of North Texas graduate where she focused on vocal studies and electroacoustic composition. She has also studied with Meredith Monk and members of her vocal ensemble.
