Art historian, curator, and photographer Ruben C. Cordova is ready to part with the bulk of what he has collected for decades: original fine art paintings and graphics; a combination of rare and not-so-rare Mexican, U.S., and Belgian film posters and memorabilia (Blade Runner, Goldfinger, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Mexican Wrestling movies); small Day of the Dead objects from Mexico; as well as original photographs in all sizes. Cordova was the prime mover behind last year’s four-venue Mel Casas retrospective, including SEX & CINEMA at FL!GHT. He holds a BA from Brown University (Semiotics) and a PhD from UC Berkeley (History of Art). He has taught at UC Berkeley, UT Pan American, UT San Antonio, Sarah Lawrence College, and the University of Houston.
