June 4, 2021 6:00 pm - June 4, 2021 10:00 pm

I am pleased to announce June’s exhibition at Creative Eye! The Opening Reception for Glass Carvings & New Work by CJ Duron will be First Friday, June 4th from 6pm to 10pm at my space in The Upstairs Studios at Blue Star Arts Complex (Studio 201). This series includes fragments of various remains along side some more traditional art nouveau shapes, engraved on materials he finds interesting. He chooses a variety of modified printing, and etching techniques in these pieces. Showing the juxtaposition between life and death is prevalent in his glass work. A sense of elegance envelopes the images, while images of life hold a glimpse of fleeting perfection before decay. Artist Bio – Born and raised in south Texas, CJ Duron is a mixed media artist who continues to push boundaries with different art forms from music and videography, to glass and stone carving. He studied art and music at San Antonio College along with print making, and acquired a skill as a head stone engraver and machinist from 2006-2016. He currently owns a silk screening and custom engraving business, and continues to make new art pieces in San Antonio. Message from the Artist about this Solo Exhibition – I’m interested in the composition of things . . . giving objects a new story by pairing them along something unorthodox is a birth of a different perspective. I believe art changes the more you look at it and interpret it.” This exhibition will run through to Monday, June 28th. We both hope to see you at the Opening Reception!
