World AIDS Day Art & Music Festival
The Brick at Blue Star
December 1, 2015 7:00 pm - December 1, 2015 11:00 pm
In honor of World AIDS Day the CHCS HIV Services Dept. will be putting on an art festival for an “uplifting day of remembrance” involving the memorial of those we have lost in the fight against HIV/AIDS, those affected by HIV/AIDS. In doing so and in coming together as a community you can show how we all can do our part in bringing down this infection together. The event will incorporate different themes throughout the night and also highlight this year’s main theme “Getting to Zero”. This event will consist of two main themes that will also be focused on are “Coming Together as a Community” and “Breaking the Stigma”. By focusing on these two themes the attendees will learn and come to understand how NOT to be remembered on this day. These two main themes will be conveyed throughout the night by having different performances, art displays, and guest speakers from outside organizations and staff members.
The event will take place December 1st starting at 7:00pm and ending at 11:00pm. There will be live performances by local groups as well as a live art show where several vendors will be selling their art works and/or doing live demos of their talents. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening, a memorial event will happen during the last part of the event and the event will be conclude with a closing speech given by each organizer. Each program pertaining to HIV services in The Center for Health Care Services will contribute and help put this event together. We will also be inviting guest speakers to the event to speak on the significance of the event and the importance of coming together as a community to bring the epidemic down to zero.
