King William Fair 2018
Fiesta kicks-off this week and all of San Antonio is gearing up for the 11 days of fun! One of our favorite events is the King William Fair. As with all of Fiesta’s events, this is a party with a purpose; proceeds from the King William Fair support the libraries, provide art instruction programs in neighborhood schools, offer scholarships for inner city students, and create revitalization and preservation efforts in the King William Historic District.
As a supporter of The Arts in San Antonio, The Blue Star Arts Complex is proud to sponsor this event, and all the art programs it provides for!
The Fair kicks off at 9am with the King William Parade. This year’s parade will honor San Antonio’s Tricentennial by creating an experience that is both visually stunning and educational for it’s audience. This moving timeline will display key events, folklore and music that have played an impactful role on San Antonio’s diverse nationality.
The parade will be divided into several time periods. Each period’s instructional stories are based on events that have developed our city. From the early days with Fray Antonio de Olivares’ working with the Payaya Indians to today’s modern times, this unique parade will do it’s best to enlighten its audience.
Stay all day to enjoy live music, food booths, art vendors, a Kid’s Kingdom play area, street performers, a Texas Wine Garden, and so much more! Grab your tickets here to save on admission, children 12 & under are FREE!
